American tosses pillows off most domestic flights
"Bub-bye" wrote in message news:6jik01h72lcg78oe09ivf449npoq967eo8@news... American tosses pillows off most domestic flights By Marilyn Adams, USA TODAY Flying is about to get a bit harder. Literally. Airline pillows are soon coming off most of American Airlines' domestic flights to cut costs. Estimated savings: $375,000 a year. American Airlines is now cutting out pillows, what will stop them from cutting out periodic maintenance? Believe me, the trend toward penny-pinching won't stop in the passenger cabin, but its also creeping into the avionics backshops and engine maintenance areas. Metal fatigue, electrical shorts and opens, decayed gaskets, sheathing, and tubes. Aging aircraft, my, my, my. How is an airline executive supposed to do more with less? More inflight electrical and mechanical failures should soon be appearing on an airplane that you're in soon. Perhaps the screaming, crying, and praying will make up for the loss of inflight movies, magazines, and newspapers. Be sure to make out a carefully worded will before your next vacation! |
