I read recently that the concerns about MSG were ill-founded. You read lots of things though. I'd rather at least have the choice, and frankly, I haven't noticed a lack of umami in the Chinese restaurants I've visited which didn't use it. -- David Horne- http://www.davidhorne.net usenet (at) davidhorne (dot) co (dot) uk http://homepage.mac.com/davidhornecomposer http://soundjunction.org |

[] I've spent a lot of nights over the last 20 years in hotel and B&Bs. It's never happened to me. OJ is frequently not great in hotels. I have fresh squeezed every morning when I'm at home, so I find almost all the offerings a bit dismal. I mentioned already the Weilburg hotel where you squeezed your own- that was nice. This morning, I squeezed pink grapefruit and added one lemon. That was not the only time I ran into an "OJ problem" in Europe, Since I am addicted to starting my day off with my OJ, I learned to to go to the market and buy my own OJ when arriving in Europe and still always travel with my own to circumvent this potential "rip-off". Never felt I had to when travelling in the US. I guess everybody has a price where they are motivated to "rip off" and develop their little scams accordingly. Wait! almighty buck" was exclusive to us Americans. PJ People everywhere seek money. Only some people worship it. How would you answer the question: what are you worth? Padraig Since I never knowingly ever attempted to rip anybody off, my motivation threshold to "rip-off" somebody would be astonomically higher than 5 bucks. |
