Default Queen Mary

After a few days of Disney with the grandgirls, we decided to see
the ocean and have a cup of coffee on the Queen Mary before
returning home to Las Vegas. We had stayed there prior to a
cruise about 4 years ago and the experience had been less than
good. Still, the ship's a landmark and we wanted to see how it
was doing.

Upon arrival, we boarded the QM and walked around the shops. I
had a chance to speak to one of the shopkeepers and he told me
that the QM was under new management and that things were getting
better each month, as seen by his receipts and anecdotal tales
from other shopkeepers. Personally, I noticed some dirt and wear
to the old girl, but the overall look and feel of the ship was
much cleaner and fresher than from 4 years back.

While I cannot say what the condition of the rooms might be, the
overall feel I had from the visit makes me favorably inclined to
give it another try when and if we take another Mexican Riviera
Carnival cruise out of Long Beach.
