Me too. They are presenting it as if Southwest is at fault. No way..........you can tell just by watching that she has no control over her kids, and since she has one with autism and one with cerebral palsy, perhaps she shouldn't be hauling them all over the country on an airplane anyway......unless she has a private sitter with each kid. SHE obviously can't deal with it. Sheesh.......

Somehow they always pick on the airline - not the people causing the
problem. And the problem ends up making the flight miserable for everybody
else on board. The screamong kids who won't shut up, the over hyped kid who
kicks the back of your seat for the entire flight, the weird kids running up
and down the aisle even when the seat belt sign is on. They have rights -
the rest of us don't. The family that boards ahead because they have two
children and then proceed to fill 12 passengers worth of overhead baggage
space with all the junk they've dragged on-board. The folks who buy a salad
at a local restaurant to eat on the plane - and when then open it, it smells
like a World War I anti-personnel poison gas. Flying used to be civilized -
Not anymore

I remember when me and my cow used to dress up to fly(before her mo-mos)and
I wore a jacjet(we are seniors)

My first flight was on a 727 back in 1963 - I was leaving for college. I
wore a tie a jacket. So did the other guys. The stewardesses were pleasant,
young and attractive. Back in those days we laughed at movies with south
american peasants riding on the roofs of trains with their live stock in
tow. Today we fly like that. And somehow even with all the restrictions the
authorities seem to side with the weirdos. It's great to find yourself stuck
in a middle seat having your business pay $1200 for the round trip to find
out the guy on the aisle paid $195 because he booked at a special rate ahead
of time. The day they deregulated the airlines and let insanity reign was
the end of good air travel

On our flight back from SJU in February there was this family
with two young kids (2 and under) sitting right behind me. The
kids did not stop crying for more than 15 minutes at a time.
Then one would cry and the other would start in tandem. To make
matters worse, we got stuck on the plane while on the ground
before takeoff for an hour and a half, then we had get off the
plane for a security check (another story, idiot AA pilot). When
it came time to reboard, these morons were among the first to
get on the plane, thus subjecting the rest of us to even more
crying, when they should have waited and been the last ones back
on, maybe even managing to get the kids to fall asleep and stop
crying while in the terminal.

Good for SWA. People seem to hate it when they cause all the problems
and are then held responsible for their actions. Evidently, these
people were part of the "no consequence" generation of never say,
"No," because it might hurt someone's self esteem.

Prior to taking off for what turned out to be a 5 hour flight from
LAX to ORD (including over an hour getting stacked over Lake
Michigan), a huge woman sat in the middle seat next to me and demanded
I raise the armrest so she could be more comfortable. When I said I
wouldn't she called me a "fatist", complained to the flight attendants
and said she'd sue under the ADA because morbid obesity is a
disability.

For an hour in the departure lounge, I watched her feed her disability
including several Carl's Jr Hamburgers, what looked like a one pound
bag of M&Ms, some type of deli sandwich and a couple of pieces of cake
and more. Somehow, this didn't make me more sympathetic to her
situation.

I paid for the seat, all of it, and wasn't interested in flying for
several hours with her sitting on me. She made such a scene the
captain came back to see what the problem was and she threatened to
sue her too. Eventually, they moved me to a first class seat and when
she found out, "Why didn't I get the first class seat? I want
everyone's name. I suing!"

Now, the point of this is SWA requires large people to actually fit in
one seat and be able to buckle that seat's safety belt. They do this
before boarding in private. Can't fit in the seat or the safety belt
doesn't fit, you buy 2 seats or you don't fly. I think that's a great
idea but then, I'm just a lousy fatist.
