(Unwanted) Windshield washing
"Rene N" wrote in message
... Last summer, I was driving in downtown Vancouver, BC. I saw a car stopped at a red light, and a person (a bum?) ran out to wash and squeegee the car's windshield. I didn't catch the whole thing because I had the green light. This was the first time I've seen this in real life (not in the movies). - Has anyone else seen this elsewhere in their travel? - What do you do in this situation? Do you pay the guy? How much? As others have mentioned, use body language indicate your do not want the "service" (for a lack of another word). If it looks like they are going to proceed anyways do what I do and turn on your windshield wipers. I personally do not want them touching my car. They are under a time restraint (time from red light back to green) so they tend to wash from one side by leaning against the car. My car may not be new, but the body and paint is in mint condition. I would like to keep it that way! |
