(Unwanted) Windshield washing
In article , "Rene N"
wrote: Last summer, I was driving in downtown Vancouver, BC. I saw a car stopped at a red light, and a person (a bum?) ran out to wash and squeegee the car's windshield. I didn't catch the whole thing because I had the green light. This was the first time I've seen this in real life (not in the movies). - Has anyone else seen this elsewhere in their travel? - What do you do in this situation? Do you pay the guy? How much? I have seen it happen many times. It used to be quite common in New York City for people to walk up to cars that were stuck in traffic and wash down their windshield. This happened to me a few times. If the guy does a good job washing down my windshield, I give the guy a dollar. Usually, they do a lousy job so I do not give them anything and they quickly move to the next car. No big deal for me. |
