is the buffet the same as other nights,

On Princess, I was at the buffet only before 6 PM and after 10 PM and found
nothing special.

HOWEVER, the menu for each night is posted earlier in the day. You can order
from the room service menu OR ask for anything that is on that night's dinning
room menu. Be advised that it was made clear that you have to ask for the
exact item as listed on the menu versus "the beef being served tonight".

As far as the what is worn, after eating people scatter all over the ship like
any other night. Take my advice and pack a dark suit and/or dress with all the
extras needed. You can always duck back into your cabin and "dress up" when you
see what peole are wearing....

While they may change the menu every night, it is still just
a buffet. On formal night, there are always those that
don't enjoy dressing for dinner that will add to the regular
"buffet-ites". Then again, there are those that usually
buffet that will partake of the formal dinner ... just to be
different!

If you don't want to dress, buffet it! If you do ... go for
it! The important part is to enjoy yourself!

Just my $.02

What ship? On Crystal, the rule is formal throughout the entire
ship for the entire night, but somehow I doubt that you are
asking about Crystal.....

On one formal night on the Zuiderdam in April we ate dinner at the
buffet. There were many pax doing the same thing. Young, seniors, pax
with children. Dress was quite informal.

SUNNY..........found the pax to be more friendly than the dining room
pax

We have done RCCL, Celebrity, Crystal, Italian Line 30 years ago, and HAL

You pay your money and you either dress the code or dress the way you like
and eat where you want.

I haven't been on RCCL since 1993, but back then the folks dressed the way
they wanted and I never saw anybody refused admission to the dining room,
including Crystal.

Sunny,

During our recent Hawaii cruise, 16 days, I wore a tux 4 times, a jacket
once, and casual, including "Hawaii" 10 times.

We never were forced to eat anywhere else although we did choose to eat at
the alternative restaurant once, and at a Suite dinner once.

Most of the time I wore a shirt and slacks, and I never felt underdressed.
