Default luggage storage in train stations

Is it true there are lockers where to store the luggage in the major train
stations?
How expensive it is?

Thank you.

Where are you talking about? In much of Europe, you can find reasonably
priced lockers in train stations, in which you can store luggage. The
UK, however, has gone completely hysterical, and in the 'name' of
security now forces you to check in each bag separately, at about a cost
of 7 or 8 euros _each._ Many smaller UK stations which once had lockers
have now had them closed. It's a mess.

Especially in more touristy parts of Europe, even quite small stations
will often have lockers.

In the Netherlands only the main stations in the big cities have them. I
think but am not quite sure, that the french have also gone hysterical
about luggage lockers.
