the Split-Ancona ferry, what kind of accommodations in winter?

does anybody ride the deck of the Croatia-to-Italy ferry in winter, or
is it just too harsh and windy and cold? It's only 20 euros according
to the website of splittours.hr.

i'm mulling whether to spring for 30 euros for the "air seat" (which
is on deck) or 35 euros for the cheapest bed (shared cabin). Anybody
had experience with the boat? thanks.

The only time I've been to Split it was April-May, and thanks
to the "bura" (the wind blowing down from the Alps) it was cold
enough to snow.

The bura is unpredictable, this looks like being another cold
winter, and the trip to Ancona is plenty long enough for you to
die of exposure. *No thanks.
