Default Fauhope House - Bed and Breakfast

Fauhope House - Bed and Breakfast
Gattonside Melrose Scotland …. a “haunting” beauty

Fauhope House is one of the many beautiful estate homes found in
Scotland. When you first begin your drive up the long driveway you feel
as though you are in a scene from a Disney movie. The rolling hills,
lush green grass and then the home - and a beauty she is! I spent one
night at Fauhope House along with my husband and two daughters. We
arrived at Fauhope House late afternoon. We were greeted by the Inn
keeper, Ian Robson. Our bags were taken to our rooms and we settled in.
My room was a beauty - large cozy room with a picture window to a
perfect view of the Scottish country side. My private bath was very
roomy, even had a claw foot bathtub and fireplace. Everything was just
perfect… or so I thought. You see I am a Medium and the last place
I want to spend the night at is a “haunted” bed and
breakfast. I began to sense a presence when I settled into the hot bath
I so needed. It was such a strong feeling that I quickly got out of the
tub and out of the bathroom. I just could not shake the feeling so I
thought I would go to bed and just try to get some rest. I went to sleep
rather quickly only to awake a few hours later to the most overwhelming
sense of a presence in my room. I have not to this day forgotten the
feeling - it was complete terror! I could sense the unrest, I felt as if
the house had a history of blood and violence. I could not wait for the
night to end. Morning arrived none too quickly. My family and I had a
warm, Scottish breakfast in the beautiful dinning area - again
everything looked picture perfect. After breakfast we packed up our
things said thank you to Inn keeper, Ian and got into our car. We were
all unusually quiet when my husband started up the car to drive away.
Then I said something - I began to tell my family the horror I had felt
in that house……… the most interesting thing happened.
My husband and both daughters told the same story- We had all felt the
unrest and haunting spirit(s) that walk the halls of Fauhope
House….sleep well travelers.
