How well can a traveler get along in czech republic using mainly english,I
also speak some german ,how usefull is it? Am trying to learn some czech of
course, but my german is much better.Thanks.

You'll be fine. English isn't exactly spoken by everyone, but a *lot*
of people speak it. German is understood by some. If you're going off
the beaten track it might be different, but if you keep to places like
Prague and Cesky Krumlov you'll be fine.

The Czech people love it when you speak a little Czech - even if just
ordering a beer ('pivo' if i remember rightly..) or saying good day
(dobry den) and the like..

Outside Prague, few people speak English, most speak some German.

If you're stuck, head for the nearest hotel reception, they'll
speak English for sure, and may make phone calls for you if
you need.
