There's a hell of a lot of state there, and a lot of it is very different from the Los Angeles basin. Not to mention that what a lot of people call "Los Angeles" isn't Los Angeles at all. ************* DAVE HATUNEN ) ************* * Tucson Arizona, out where the cacti grow * * My typos & mispellings are intentional copyright traps * |

If I meant all of california, I would have said "the standard CA lane change". |

Look at the exchange as you quoted it above. pltrgyst wrote: California [driving] is . . . hideous Iconoclast wrote: "I disagree:" You wrote: "I don't. The standard LA lane change is to close one's eyes and slowly drift into the lane of choice." So you seem to have assumed that LA driving was typical of the whole state. A few questions about laws in the US
Dave Smith wrote: AZ Nomad wrote: I don't. The standard LA lane change is to close one's eyes and slowly drift into the lane of choice. Would you signal before or after the lane change? Is it one of the cities where you are better off not to signal because if someone sees you trying to move over they move in to prevent it? Actually LA is one of the better areas for driver courtesy & skill. I suspect that it is a combination of local laws and a survival factor. |
