Sri Lanka hotels?
Of course, there are plenty of good hotels in Sri Lanka, all depends which
part of Sri Lanka you are visiting and how much you are willing to spend. As for taxi fare its best to get a car from the airport from the tourist board, may cost a bit more but its much safer. Have a look at lonely planet may find some useful tips. Cheers, Brian. "justme" wrote in message ... Anyone ever travel down to Sri Lanka? I stayed in Hotel Taj near the airport ( Pronounce TAK ) It is an Indian Chain of Hotels. it was reasonably priced. The hotel picked me up at the aiport without charging me The cost of taxi is very high as there is a lot of traffic between the airport and Colombo.- On my way back I stayed in a very nice hotel in Ngombo ( do not know whether the spelling is correct ) with the biggest swimming pool in Sri lanka. when I hired a minibus it was about 3500 rupees a day.. it is the fastest way to move in Sri lanka. a restaurant should not cost you more than 5 to 10 dollars. I payed about 50 dollars per night in other hotels in Sri lanka. they are a little bit in need of refurbishing.. but there are very few tourists and there is no money Besides.. Sri lanka was badly hit by Tsunami. the war between the Tamils and the majority does not help the tourism |
