morocco information needed

I will visit Morocco for a month during December and January on my own.
I wish to do a 2-3 days mountain hiking and 2-3 days desert safari. Are
there any recommendations where I can do these? I have little hiking
experience or equipment so I am looking for routes that are easy to
manage. Or are there organized tours that I can join? Many thanks.

At the Hotel Ali in Marrakech (right off the djemaa al-Fna, and actually one
of the best places to stay if you're on a budget) there is a woman selling
small-group tours such as you describe. Everyone returning from them seemed
to have had a good time.

Hi,

The Atlas are good. You can climb the Toubkal mountain, or just hike
through different parts, there are many to choose. For the desert
Merzouga area or Zagora area, or both.
