Travel To europe in summer or fall?

I would like some input on when it is best to travel to Europe, in the
fall or in the summer? Thanks

Where in Europe? There's a big difference between Sevilla and
Stockholm.

I'd say VERY broadly, fall for Paris, summer for anywhere north of it.

Fall is generally better because there are fewer tourists, but as you
get north, not only the cooler weather but also the shorter days
become a negative factor.

Not this year. In 2003 the autumnal equinox is at 1047 GMT, 23
September, which is tomorrow as of the moment.

Of course, the definition of the solstices and equinoxes as the
cusps of the seasons is only one way to do it, all of them pretty
much arbitrary. As far as I'm concerned, autumn begins on
American labor Day.

Many guidebooks have advice on temperature ranges based on time of
year. If you're moving primarily either north-south or south-north,
then travel in the Fall or Spring to follow a comfortable climate.
That's what I did. From Britain to Turkey, I travelled August,
September, October last year. Only rarely was I too cold or too hot.
I brought no coat of any kind.

it is a very generic question.
It depends on where you would like to go

this year we had very high temperatures in Italy France and Spain
as high as 45 degrees

you can still swimm in some italian and spanish beaches now
with temperatures of about 26 to 30 during the day.

Or to be more precise, there's autumn in the English speaking countries.
In the other countries we have höst,herbst,efterår.....
