Default Explorer of the Sea Balcony??

Going to book this coming week but have a few questions. (I did do
google search and also web surfing but came up confused).

We would like to try a balcony this time around. On Explorer of the Sea,
are they all plexi glass or are some obstructed views?

I'm considering Deluxe or Superior, is square footage the only
difference?

There was one site that stated that after April 2004 the categories
changed.

Guess when it gets down to it,, I'm looking for suggestions on what your
experiences in on different balcony areas. I would like to make an
informed choice.

Thanks ever so much,
Cheryl
ps,, actually this is a special cruise for us, as our son is getting
married on ship!

Hi Cheryl,
Congrats on your son getting married! Good choice of ships. No balcony
cabins have obstructed views on EXPLORER except a few aft facing cabins. I
would try to avoid Deck 6 if possible as the balcony rail on this deck is
pure steel. The balconies on all the other decks have a rail that is glass
on the upper half, and steel on the bottom half.

Regarding the cabin differences between Deluxe and Superior, it is only a
few square feet. Hardly noticeable and otherwise there is no difference.

Try to get a balcony cabin on the "hump" if possible. This area of the ship
is very close to the aft elevators and it projects out from the side more
than the rest of the ship giving you exceptional views.

Good luck with your cabin selection.

Thank you,, that is what I wanted to avoid.. the steel wall, now I
know to make sure to stay away from deck 6.
I'm looking forward to a first time balcony,,,,, thinking AM coffee out
on the "patio" will be so relaxing. I will inquire about getting
something on the "hump" so as to have the better view. G

thank you, again!

One difference in the Deluxe vs. Superior room is the deluxe has a loveseat
and the superior a couch (some pull out to be sofabeds). Other than that I
have not seen much difference.

Thanks Jeff! Might as well go deluxe then.
