Tibet from Hong Kong -- Tibet travel permit issues
I understand one can go to the CITS office in HK to get the Tibet
travel permit. Unfortunately, we will only be in HK after the office apparently closes (and want to leave the next day--a Sunday--for Tibet). The only other alternative (as I understand it) is to head to Chengdu to get the permit, but I think you have to wait a day to receive the permit. Is it possible to get the permit prior to arriving in Asia? Thanks. |

Can we apply for this permit when applying for the visa at the Chinese consulate here in Germany ? -- Alfred Molon http://www.molon.de/Galleries.htm - Photos from China, Myanmar, Brunei, Malaysia, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Nepal, Egypt, Germany, Austria, Prague, Budapest, Singapore and Portugal |

Sometimes it depends on time of day and who you talk to. Best of course is to ask the specific consulate.
