Default Stupid european airlines require Thai visa before boarding

hi all,

I`ll be travelling from Berlin to Bangkok for 6 months and
then returning to Berlin. The travel agent here says that
Lufthansa and other local airlines require a visa covering the
length of your stay, or they won`t let you board.
The Berlin Thai embassy will only give me a 2 month visa,
so, what to do?

All this is silly, since the Thais give on-arrival one
month "entry permits", no visa required (for my country),
and I won`t be in the country more than a month before
travelling elsewhere.

thanks in advance

Buy a one way ticket to Asia?

That's only your version about the truth. Thai authority possibly don't take
it so and might nail the carrier. Carriers are very reluctant to take any
chances.

Or an onward ticket out of Thailand to any other country for which you have
/or don´t need a/ visa.

Buy an onward ticket out of Thailand. Refundable if you haven´t fixed your
travel plans yet.

But the Thai authorities are entitled to ask for proof that you will leave
Thailand after your 30 day stay. They never do this in practice, but are
entitled to do so. And if they do and you don´t have a return or onward
ticket, they may fine the airline. So airlines are not stupid at all.
