When I was in the same situation I consulted my medical advisors, rather
than asking on a NG.

I thought it was more to do with the airlines insurance policy than a
medical issue

You seem to have assumed that his cardiologist, the one he should
ask, is here to answer the question.

BTW, I assume he does not mean he will be the pilot.

I flew from PHX to LHR six weeks after they did a quintuple
bypass operation on me.

What airlines insurance policy? I've had three angio preocedures
and a bypass operation, and no airline has ever asked me if I had
them.
