Positive report on RCI
With all the negative publicity going around about RCI and other
cruise lines, I want to relate what happened to us on a RCI cruise twice. The first time was Splendour of the Seas over in Europe. There evidently was a person on board that kept stealing things from people in the pool area. They started watching very closely and found this man stealing cameras, purses, etc. on the pool deck. They found all kinds of stolen things in his room, and put him off the ship in Sicily. He was screaming violent things on the shore, but he was left there to find his own way back home. He was a Dr. from Portugal. The other experience was in Cozumel, when on a tour, my husband fainted, hit some gravel on his face and was cut up pretty bad. They called an ambulance for us, and we were transported to a clinic where several stitches were taken on his face. Port authorities took us back to the ship, and we were treated extremely well by everyone involved. In fact he had lost his room key and the purser kindly made him another one and wished him well. They later called the room to see how he was doing! The next day he went to the Dr. to get the bandages changed and he was treated very nice by the Dr. and the nurse, and they did not charge him anything at all, in fact gave him some extra patches for the trip home and a few days extra. I might add that I later drove him to Scott and White clinic in Temple, Tx. and found out he needed a pacemaker which we immediately took care of at the Heart Place at Baylor, in Dallas, Tx. Anyway, we have been treated very kindly by RCI and I know they are doing a good job from personal experience, in fact they even upgraded us on the next cruise we booked from them. In fact we like them so much we are going to take the RCI Rhapsody of the Seas again out of Galveston in October. Our youngest daughter has been taking chemo treatments for cancer in her breast (47 years old) and we are going to take her, her husband, our other daughter and her husband, on a recovery cruise. She is going to be just fine, because we said so! Anyway, just wanted to let everyone know that we think RCI is a great, kind cruise line, and the publicity lately has not been showing that on TV. In fact today was another episode showing drunks on a 4 day spring break cruise out of Florida. It really disgusted me, because I am sure things like this do happen, but it is in a very great minority. RCI is a great kind cruiseline. Marjorie Briggs |

Marjorie Briggs Marjorie, Carol is 47 and currently in chemo for breast cancer. And we are thinking about an October cruise on the Rhapsody of the Seas as a celebration of life vacation. Email me and maybe we can plan something together. -- dillon I didn't climb to the top of the food chain to become a vegetartian. |
