Default Taxes when booking flights online

Something that I think I've noticed, but I'm not too sure yet whether
I've got it right...

I was arguing w/ a friend of our who will be joining myself and my
family on our trip to Prague. I booked my tickets via Orbitz, he
booked his via Travelocity. Though the initial price that he got
quoted was slightly lower, in comparing the flight reciepts, my flight
was actually $75 cheaper.

I noticed that travelocity added $116.00 in taxes and something like
$6.00 in service fees...when I only got $10.00 in taxes/fees total...

So my question is, are taxes included in the fares available on
Orbitz??? How does expedia/priceline and others deal with this??

Just curious...thanks.
