Philippines Very Unsafe-Crooked Police+Judiciary = VISITORS/Investors AVOID
FeilyuCriminalDerekDavid
wants everyone to know: In the Philippines corruption is rampant - from the Palace, and Congress, through all levels of the so-called justice system the crooked police in PNP, crooked Fiscal/Prosecutors, and never forget all the corrupt judges ! Remember the Mindanao Massacre last fall, where a local warlord murdered 57 people including some journalists? He got away with it becuase he was an important reason for the election of the former President ! He still has not had atrial, even though allegedly there are witnesses to testify. An investigation has revealed that senior officials of PNP[Philippines National Police knew in advance of the massacre, but being corrupt, did nothing. The media report further, that senior PNP ere in fact active in the massacre! Now is the time for sensible people, considering a tourist destination - TO AVOID & BOYCOTT UNSAFE PHILIPPINES !! It will be better, AND SAFER, TO VISIT BETTER DESTINATIONS IN THE AREA - GUAM, SINGAPORE, AUSTRALIA, MALAYSIA, INDONESIA, THAILAND AND VIETNAM, FOR EXAMPLE. On Tue, 24 Aug 2010 10:02:00 -0600, mr.mouxinsheng100 wrote: Crimes Against Tourists-Avoid Philippines Newspapers in the Philippines the past few weeks have had many stories, even on the front pages, detailing that Americans are now boycotting the Philippines, due to fears for their safety. There is no fair JUSTICE for foreigners who are victims of criminals in the Philippines. Foreigners are treated as willing suckers, to be fleeced by the so-called justice system of the Philippines. A victim of a serious criminal accident, first gets taken to the cleaners by the hospital, for medical costs, which the victim, not the state has to pay! If the victims want a medico-legal report with which to prosecute the criminal, then the hospital holds up the victim for a significant extortionate fee! To have the lazy police off their butts, to charge and arrest the criminals, the VICTIM must pay a Court Fee just to lay the charges! Then the Fiscal/Prosecutor will do everything possible, to try and delay processing of the charges, in the hope that the foreigner will either get fed up, or even leave the country so that their favored criminals will continue to operate scot-free! If the foreigner persists in the prosecution, even though there is a Presidential Decree signed by President Marcos in 1980, ordering that foreigners who are victims of crime are to receive immediate resolution WITHIN 72 HOURS - and effective treatment by the judicial system, in order to protect the international reputation of the Philippines as a favored international tourist destination, this is ignored by all in the so-called Philippine justice system! If the foreigner stays to prosecute, if lucky, the first court date for arraignment will be 4-6 months after the crime. Then the judge is likely to order a compulsory meeting at a Mediator, who like the rest of the system, favors his local criminal because he thinks that the poor foreigner victim is rich and can afford losing his money! For example, a serious injury case which in North America would result in charges of attempted motor manslaughter in the Philippines gets charges as Reckless Imprudence Causing Injuries. In civilised countries, damages would be in the range of $250,000, usually settled out of court. In Philippines, the mediator tells the foreigner to accept 24,000 Pesos, approximately US$450, when the already paid medical bills are already almost double this! Not included are the huge payments paid for extensive travel and repeated trips, court costs, and do not forget 6 months of pain and suffering! This particular case may go to trial 2 September 2010 - more than 9 months after the crime. This contradicts the decree/law of President Marcos from 1980, where it is the law that such cases are to be resolved WITHIN 72 HOURS, IN ORDER TO PROTECT THE INTERNATIONAL REPUTATION OF THE PHILIPPINES! This is but a simple case of admitted criminality. TOURISTS, AND POTENTIAL INVESTORS - AVOID THE PHILIPPINES, IF YOU VALUE YOUR LIFE. No wonder civilised countries such as the USA now are issuing advisory warnings. Look to safer countries in the area, such as Malaysia, Singapore, Australia and Guam. Many lost their life...or had to pay *ransom in millions. Yesterday, 8 innocent tourists from Hong Kong lost their lives....killed by an ex police captain. Hong Kong government condemned the Manila authorities as totally incompetent. *The Manila government should have agreed to the gunman's demand, ...after he had released the 15 tourists hostage....then appropriate action can be taken against him. There is absolutely no need to storm the bus which resulted in the death of eight tourists from Hong Kong. Reuters news service is stating that some of those killed, were in fact killed by the POLICE ! The news are also stating that the PNP Captain who had been fired from PNP, is the same person under investigation for his part in the murders of some prominent businessmen a few years earlier ! It is not completely the fault of the Philippines. *The tourist have known that the Philippines is a very dangerous place... Why risk their life? There are many safe and better tourist destination in this part of the world on offer. * It must the be the thrill of putting one's life in danger....like playing Russian roulette. * If this is true...then, the Hong Kong government had nothing to complain. The stupid tourists paid the ultimate price.... The world is a better place with less stupid fools around. Mexico, Thailand, and the Philippines are dangerous. *Two German tourists were killed in San Francisco recently biking through the streets and ran over by cars. Do you think, people from Hong Kong and China will still go to Manila for sightseeing and tours ? Yes, people never learn. It seems that there are regularly news stories in the Manila Bulletin and Enquirer newspapers about foreigners being robbed, raped, and even murdered in the Philippines. The so-called justice system there prefers to protect their Pinoy criminals, rather than foreigners - tourists and investors. |
