Default Luggage on Chinese Trains?

We're planning a trip in eastern China that will include several
daytime train trips. We usually travel with one or two 24" suitcases
and a couple of pieces of hand luggage.

How will that work on Chinese D trains? What provision do they have
for luggage in the car and/or overhead at the seat?

Like trains the whole world over - you won't have any problems whatsoever.

Shouldn't be a problem. If you take first class seats they should be
enough room for your luggage.

Yup, except the Indian ones tend to go a little bit slower.
