Vancouver to North Asia, business class
Greetings. I have to do a trans-North Pacific this autumn and I'm
looking for recent anecdotes. I have some flexibility with my routing and my greatest concern is comfort on the way. Air Canada's website says they use a B-763 for the YVR-Osaka flight and an A-343 for YVR-Narita. The seat pitch, seat width and seat recline statistics are the same for both planes. In general I tend to prefer Boeing aircraft because I find the Airbus to be less well ventilated--but are there more compelling reasons to choose one flight over the other? Slightly less convenient in terms of itinerary would be Singapore Air for YVR-Seoul. I have been on this flight previously and their B-777 with its 'SpaceBed' is quite nice. Is this enough to outweigh the scheduling advantage of Air Canada? All considered opinions welcome. cheers, Henry |

And with the ex CP fleet slowly being replaced/disposed of, you are left with only AC aircraft which do not have the overhead air vents. So I am not sure this is an Airbus vs Boeing thing, it is more an Air Canada thing. |

Vancouver to North Asia, business class
Air Canada has undoubtedly the worst food in Business Class we've ever
encountered (even worse than North West - and that's saying something!!). We flew them on the following seperate legs - from LAX to Vancouver to Calgary to Toronto; then Montreal to London. On the LAX - Vancouver leg the salad was inedible - the Flight Attendant commenting that she didn't know just what it was either - but no-one had eaten it. Singapore Air is so much superior it definitely overcomes any slight scheduling disadvantage imo. "Henry" wrote in message .. . Greetings. Values are most likely set by airline policy. There might be between airlines, or between the past and the present. But that's another story. |
