Need tips on Catalina Island and Ensenada, Mexico

Any one have any tips about things to do on either Catalina Island or
Ensenada, Mexico. Looking for places to eat, things to do, shopping
bargins. Thank-you.

catalina island i would reccommend the inland moter tour only
the old casino building no gambling is ok to see once. personally for me
if the ship stopped at catalina id probably stay onboard

Ensenada- I stay on the ship. But Catalina has gulf cart rentals, or a
bus ride up to the "Airport in the sky". Worthwhile and scenic. If whales are
migrating consider the watches- BUT verify recent sightings.

We were just in Ensenada over New Year's & I was amazed at how much it
has been spiffed up - sidewalk cafes, nicer stores, streets &
sidewalks repaved, coffee bars, etc. It is fine to walk around for a
day. El Rey del Sol is a beautiful old formal French restaurant on
the main drag. Fish tacos at the fishing port are great. If it were
me, though, I'd rent a car or hire a taxi & drive up to La Fonda
restaurant for lunch - spectacular drive & a wonderful meal on one of
the most beautiful patios overlooking the sea you can imagine.
