I'll bet they improve their between-flight cleaning services
after this. But this is sort of over-reaction is becoming simply ridiculous. http://www.optusnet.com.au/news/stor...al/1387072.inp "Fighter planes escort UK jet in bomb alert 8:49 AM June 8 A British holiday jet carrying over 100 people from Portugal to central England was diverted under fighter escort to an airport near London after a suspicious package was found in the cabin, police said. Bomb disposal experts later gave the all-clear, airport and travel company officials said. A spokeswoman for German-owned holiday company Thomson said the alert began when a passenger found a mobile telephone in the cabin of the Boeing 737 plane, carrying 108 people from Faro to Coventry. "Because it didn't belong to anyone aboard the flight ... as a precautionary measure the plane was diverted to Stansted airport," she said. A Ministry of Defence spokeswoman said two F3 Tornadoes had escorted the plane to the airport, about 65 kilometres north-east of London, where an army bomb disposal team joined police. A police spokeswoman said all 103 passengers and five crew aboard Flight 302 were being looked after by police and airport staff. " Cheers, Alan, Australia |
