Why We Don't Want "Free" Medical Care

AW: Why We Don't Want "Free" Medical Care
The same drugs in the US mostly cost less in the UK. Hi, even the same brands. I've been buying meds from http://www.mastersmarketing.com/ for over a decade. one particular med my mother wants the US name brand, her medicaid/medigap insurance only covers generic... so I get her the name brand from the UK for less than her co-pay for the generic here. my wife's birth control pills cost less than the co-pay under her state insurance plan (she's a teacher). but I can understand why when those with a vested interest in keeping the US medical system the way it is like to choose to compare to the UK or Canada... it's not as good a system as the French! -- Hackamore http://www.hackamore.com http://hackamoretravel.blogspot.com |

AW: Why We Don't Want "Free" Medical Care
Medicare is universal coverage for seniors. medicare is partial coverage for some seniors. it doesn't cover meds for example (though there is the new -partial- drug coverage) but that's not universal coverage. would it cover a house call and medications? no. does it in France? Yes. They have universal coverage. No, it's true. There is no universal coverage, because universal coverage means just that. -- Hackamore http://www.hackamore.com http://hackamoretravel.blogspot.com |

AW: Why We Don't Want "Free" Medical Care
Look what up? Medicare is universal coverage for seniors. Full stop. partial coverage nothing comparable to universal coverage, like France. and medicare (even with a medigap policy) doesn't cover most medications. Then absolutely no country has it because they all have cases like Hirst's, rationing in many, etc. etc. please site a verifiable case like this in France? No for the reasons I have already stated. If you going to allow exclusions for cases like Hirst's, rationing, etc. a single person is an exception. a majority of the population is not. and the Hirst case couldn't come up under medicare. medicine isn't covered. -- Hackamore http://www.hackamore.com http://hackamoretravel.blogspot.com |
