The last time that I rode on that airplane I think their attendant
thanked the passengers at least twice to perhaps three or four times
for the patronage, and there's little wrong with that in itself, I
suppose.

Now, if I throw-in the radio spots, the tv saturations,
billboards/signs and newspaper ads, then the usual thank yous, & have
a-nice -lights of our prevailing culture's everyday civility ...are
what i---subjectively to me in my mind--interpret as "sing-song crape."

But if ya doesn't, then you're not an H.L. Mencken fan.
