NRT to ZRH in Class. A good experience but there are too many buts. LX is
lacking attention to details and especially the last service before landing
is disappointing eg cold pasta, no fresh orange juice etc. The seats were
okay on this A340-300 : unlike on A330s. Service was pretty offhand with no
smile at all. C class lounge (UAL) in NRT is quite a fiasco and the proposed
ANA lounge is on the other side of the airport. I would certainly think
twice before taking this airline again in C class. I don t understand why LX
is a 4 star airline. I would give them 3 stars.

ZRH-ARN return in C. Living in southern part of Germany ZRH is nearer and
more relaxed than FRA, so I opted for LX. Both legs on A320, very modern and
fresh cabin appearance. Inflight service outbound ok, crew friendly but
could have done a bit more than just the minimum. Breakfast consisted of
mushroom tart/quiche, tasty and adequate for a morning flight. Return flight
almost full in both classes, F/A did an outstanding job making passengers
feel at home. Food again tasty. All in all an enjoyable trip, both flights
slightly late though.

LHR-ZRH-FCO return. Good short haul product. Comfortable A320 aircraft. All
flights on time. Friendly cabin crew. Disappointing small submarine roll
only food served, but Swiss chocolates a nice touch.

Shanghai-Zurich and on to Brussels in business. After arriving at the
airport at 7am for the scheduled 8:55am flight we were told the flight was
late in arriving due to snow in Zurich and would leave 2 hours late. Would
have been nice to know this earlier, but I guess with the morning timing
it's difficult. A bit messy at check-in as after lining up I then had to
separately go to the ticket counter to reschedule my connecting (Swiss)
flight. Used the normal Star Alliance lounge in Pudong airport, nothing
special though much better than in the old terminal. The flight did finally
leave more than 2.5 hours late. Service throughout the flight was
professional and generally ok, though rather uncharming - a smile here and
there would have been nice. As a long-time Senator I expected the purser to
come and personally introduce her-/himself as happens in LH and other Star
Alliance partners, but didn't happen (no big issue actually, but a
detail...). Food was up to standard with 3 main course choices. Decent
choice of wines. In-seat entertainment also good with on-demand video and
reasonable movie selection. What was really missing for me is a decent
selection of magazines as I find in LH, there was nothing on this flight.
The seats are somewhat similar to flat-inclined LH seats, but rather too
short for me (at 188cm) and somehow not as comfortable, ok but not great.
Before landing the screen informed us of our new connection flights (as my
rescheduled one was now also missed). Overall quite good experience and I
would fly with them again, though I prefer LH.

Cathy and Bill have long gone too. They cut off Internet access in their
funny
farm.
