Default NCL Dawn to Bermuda in October

Hi,
I am considering taking my two teenagers (boys) on board the Norwegian
Dawn for the week of October 11. What type of weather may we expect
and is there any good snorkeling in Bermuda ? What are the ship's
activities when it is in port. Shows, Casino,... ? The ship docks at
King's Wharf, any good hints for transportation ? We like biking.
Or should we rather cruise the Carribean ?
Looking forward to your responses.

The weather on the way over may be rough. I've been in October and
November and sometimes it is like a mill pond, and sometimes it is so
rough that you can't keep the water in the pool. It depends a bit on
what the hurricanes are doing.

Temperature wise on land it will be warm during the day (75-85 deg F)
and a little cooler at night. Average high will be 80 deg F

There is good snorkeling in Bermuda, but the water will be cold
(average water temperature 77 deg F) and if it has been windy the viz
won't be too good. The beaches are nice, but the water may be cold
for swimming depending on what you are used to.

The ships are not allowed to have the casino open in port (AFAIK). I
don't know about shows - I think they still have those. There are
lots and lots of things to do and places to visit on Bermuda.

Normally I buy a bus-ferry pass for the time we are there. The buses
go all over the island and the ferries go from Kings Wharf to Hamilton
and there are also long distance ferries that go to St. George
although I have not taken that one.

You can rent bikes, and there is a good bike trail on the old railroad
tracks which goes the whole length of the islands (21 miles) except
for the area around the airport where they've used the old railroad
bridge for cars. They do drive on the left if you are going to bike
on regular roads so you have to be careful about that.

I went in 4/08 on that ship, so this may be dated:

-Can't speak much for Snorkling in Bermuda, but I imagine the water
will be quite chilly. Entertainment as a whole is...well, you may have
to make some. We saw the cave complex there and rode on the buses to
most of the major beaches, but overall, found ourselves bored more
than anything. Our suggestion for beach going is Tobacco Bay (near St.
George), for sure. Quiet, in a character filled residential area,
quite beautiful.

-Seas will probably be rough. It is the Atlantic, after all. Our
sailing was quite extreme; never really used the balcony at sea due to
massive headwinds.

-Casino on board I have no complaints over. Shows were quite good.

-Transportation in Bermuda should start with the high speed ferries
and then you connect with buses. Understand that while its a small
island physically, the time that it will take to get from one end to
the other seems quite extreme. By bus, it would take well over an
hour. Wikitravel can probably give you a better assessment of exactly
how it works and how stops are noted.
