Default Sleeping well on 11 hr flight in cramped coach class

I'm going to be making an 11 hour flight, in cramped coach class and
I'm about 5ft 10inches.

The goal is to arrive at the destination at 5:30 AM, and being able to
work all day afterwards.

I have the mask and earplugs (and ear-planes) and noise reduction
headphones... (I've used all of them before...and have Dramamine, just
in case). The next issue seems to be comfort for sleeping. (Am I
missing anything else?)

Some things sound like 'miracles' when you read about them -- but I
wonder if they actually work (or are two bulky to carry into the plane
etc):

Any recommendations?

Use your miles to upgrade to business class. You will sleep much better.

Thanks... but unfortunately, due to flight timing issues, I got stuck
on an airline on which I don't have miles... and is known to be
cramped :-(

I'm short but I have a horrible time flying at night, mostly because I
can't get my feet off the floor or even cross my legs and I'm used to
having a footstool. I like the look of that little Magellan footrest
but I can't help thinking that it wouldn't make it through security.

My travel agent recommends gravol but I hate that drugged feeling the
next morning.

I just booked a flight for September to London and was able to get a
bulkhead seat. I'm hoping there will be more wiggle-room for my legs.

Yup. If I had to work after a long flight, I would simply leave a day
earlier and allow time for some rest before the first day of work after
a long flight. Everyone is different, but I can't imagine getting any
sound sleep with the gadget you pointed out.

Dramamine sucks. Get some Ambien instead. It's worked for me, and
I'm just two inches shorter than you.

A glass of red wine is better still.

Alcohol is dehyrdating.
This is the opposite way to go on a flight where you already need extra
hydrating.

Better yet, two glasses. Followed by a glass of brandy. Works on me.

Perhaps. Myself, if I drink water instead, I need to get up and go the
men's room every two hours or so. Great if you're stuck in a seat far
from an aisle.
