Actually I dont think they have any direct flights from NY to BKK, you must
go through Hong Kong.

My friend is a pilot and he says it is a nice flight. I suggest Cathay
Pacific as the airline of my choice (they are a great airline to fly with)
I have only flown Cathay and they were great, the food was good and the
plane was roomy to me, the individual screens on the headrest was nice too
for games, movies, tv shows, radio....anything. I flew coach and I would do
it again if I had the time and money. If you plan to go to more than one
country check out their "all asia pass".

Doug

PS Continental does not have direct flights every day of the week from NY
to BKK, some days you have to go though Japan.

hmm, what has BKK have to do with this subject?

CO has never flown to BKK as far as I know. Maybe on a codeshare of NW.

Quoting (Eric Le Donne) regarding Continental NY to HK

I've flown it several times, and plan to again in another month or so. BTW,
it's actually Newark NJ (EWR) not JFK in NY.

As others have said, it's a great flight if you're in BF. And that's the only
way I've ever flown it. 16 hrs West bound, and you get to within 50 miles of
the North Pole, but it's dark by that time and you really don't get to see it.
I'd say about 1/2hr to 45 min less Eastbound, perhaps up to an hour or more
with a decent tail wind.

If you've ever flown a CO 777 in BF, it's pretty much the same thing, just a
lot longer. I've flown both the EWR--HKG and NRT flights and their fairly
identical, except for the international menu choices and the non-English flight
announcements (the HKG flight has announcements in both Cantonese and Mandrin).

All seats in BF have Laptop Ports as do selected seats in Economy (check the CO
website for exactly where in ECO, but I think it's like Rw 16-23 or something
like that). Supposedly, all CO 777s now have the new seats that have 170°
reclining seats and the pre-programed positions etc. They are nice, and worth
the upgrade hassles.
