Default NYC - last minute deal

Hi,

We would like to go to NYC for 3 evenings (Aug. 3, 4 and 5). We are 3. Any
informations about a good but cheap hotel in Manhattan ?

Thanks,

Guy

"Cheap" and "Manhattan" just do not go together!

Try the Hotel Pennsylvania or the Ramada Milford Plaza. Neither are
TOP notch hotels but then their prices aren't either! Either is
perfectly fine sans the frills.

We felt that the Broadway Plaza was a good deal. Also a lot of people
seem to like the Belvedere. Both of these hotels should be under $150
per night. Check them out at TripAdvisor.com.

Try the Savoy at the corber of Sixth Ave and 23rd. It's a relatively
new hotel with an excellent location, right above the 23rd Stret PATH
station and the Subway. You are away from the overpriced restaurants
and tourist traps of Times Square but the 10 block walk there is
interesting and quick. You are also 10 block in the other direction
from Madison Square Garden and Empre Stae Building, Macy's etc.

I've seen ads that they have rookms for $99. (plus tax, of coruse, as
all rates are).

You also might check out Chelsea Bed and Breakfast, a few hundred feet
away on 23rd. I have no ideas about their rates butfrom the outsdie
it looks like a very cozy and freindly place.

Depends on which area you prefer to stay in. Check the popular travel
booking web sites to see what deals you can find.

If you want something really cheap, try one of the Y's. I've stayed at
the Vanderbilt Y, and the West Side Y is supposed to be similar. They
have small but clean rooms, with bunk beds and air-conditioning. They
have shared baths. Some of the rooms in the Vanderbilt Y are triples,
and some have a sink in the room.

The guests tend to be young and international.
