Beverages purchased airside banned from carry-on?

I do the same thing. I save empty 50 ml bottles of liquor and re-fill them at home and bring them with me when I fly. Sometimes 4 of them at a time. I always get them past screening with no questions or issues. Why bother? The stuff isn't that expensive. ? At $5 or $6 for each one served on a plane? |

And also isn't there a rule by the airlines (not TSA) that all liquor consumed in the cabin must have been supplied by the carrier? What a joke - to bring up such an arcane, inconsequential and unenforcable rule as if its somehow relevant. And I suppose that you also never violate the airlines carry-on bag rules for size and weight? |

Free on British Airways.
On international flights, or domestic - or both? In coach? In my experience, drinks are free on international flights in coach on airlines not based in the US. all liquor consumed in the cabin must have been supplied by the carrier? Not supplied, served. The reason is so they can stop serving you if you're visibly drunk. Different airlines interpret it in different ways. If you hand a bottle to an FA and ask if she'll open it, sometimes she will, sometimes not. My experience is that the booze is free in all classes on all international flights. I'm told that some US airlines don't give the stuff away on international flights. My experience is that even airlines based in Arab countries give free drinks in all classes on international flights. -- "Hopefully the fair wind will resume, or this may well take all day." Well reasonably obviously if you don't intend drinking it on the flight you can put the stuff in a case in the hold. -- "Hopefully the fair wind will resume, or this may well take all day." It was a low-cost airline with hand-carry baggage allowance only. |
