Drinking outdoors / real ale in Denmark
"loobyloo" wrote in message
... At the risk of sounding like a complete alcoholic and a typical Brit overseas, I would like to ask whether it is the done thing to drink in public in Denmark. When I went to Latvia this year, people wandered the streets drinking from bottles of beer. There was no problems about it and it was all quite relaxed. Is this possible to do in Denmark, or would you been seen as a bit of a lowlife, or get arrested? Secondly (a long shot this one) - is there anywhere you can get real ale, or failing that, good continental lager, in Århus? Cliff Laine About 15 years ago I was in Fredrikshaven on a Saturday. The Swedish ferry came into port & a vast number of young Swedes came into the town & drank themselves into a stupor on Spirits. An hour before the ferry set off for Sweden they came round the town with a cart, loading the drunken bodies on to it & pushed them on to the Ferry. I have never seen anything like it in my life. It just shows what happens when you try to keep people away from Alcohol! -- Dave Croft Warrington England |
