My wife and I spent 3 wonderful weeks in NZ. Milford Sound was amazing, whale watching at Kaikoura was an amazing experience, kayaking the beautiful coast of Abel Tasman was also a really great experience, and Queenstown was memorable (whitewater rafting is so much fun). I've got a personal 'New Zealand Journal' (http://web.ukonline.co.uk/jeff.jane) of our travels that may be helpful to you. It has an itinerary of our trip, pictures, and maps, plus more. Hope your trip is a great one.
