Yeah, sure bud, like the fact that there hasn't been a serious
Aeroflot accident since 1994.

but....
Sunday's accident was the deadliest involving a Russian airliner since
170 people died in August 2006 when a Tupolev-154 bound for St
Petersburg crashed in Ukraine.

but....
That wasn't Aeroflot.

A lot more "passenger miles" flown in the US, though.

What cannot be disputed is that the top Russian airlines these days are just
"as safe" as western airlines.
Aeroflot, Rossiya (ex-Pulkovo), S7-Sibir and Transaero use predominantly
Boeing & Airbus planes.
And don't forget, Aeroflot has been a member of SkyTeam (together with Air
France/KLM, Continental, Delta, China Southern, etc.) since April 2006.

Russia contains many more airlines that Aeroflot. You need to find stats
for Aeroflot alone, and you will find that it is a relatively safe
airline, on a par with most western carriers.

Either one, if safety is the concern. United, if service is the
criterion. However, the way service on United is going, there isn't much
to choose from.

LOL... Now try comparing the number of passenger miles between the US
and Russia.
