Default Smoking at O'Hare?

My wife and I are taking our daughters to Italy next month,
flying from Los Angeles to Chicago and eventually to Rome.
I don't smoke, but they enjoy their Winstons very much. Is
there any place (inside) for them to smoke during 3 hour
layover in Chicago?

This will be a long enough trip without being on a flight
for 8 hours with my wife and two teenagers that haven't had
enough of their nicotine, lol. Also, is Italy generally
accommodative to smokers? I figure nothing can be worse for
them than here in Cali.

Thanks!

I'm not a smoker, but I passed through ORD a month ago. According to the
signs the only place to smoke was outside on the sidewalk, i.e. on the other
side of security.

Never been to Chicago, but Italy is most definitly Ciggy friendly. In fact
it is almost impossible to find a restaraunt/bar with non smoking seats. I
should know, I've just given up a 30 a day habit.

Even if there is a place, why don't you just tell them that there isn't? Then
they won't do it. Problem solved.

Inside? Not since the '42nd Parallel' went non-smoking many years ago.

1) They might read this newsgroup.
2) He stated in the original post that he did not relish the prospect of
spending 12+ hours with the 3 of them with them not having had a fix.

The Admirals Club in T3 has a smoking lounge as does the Flagship
Lounge at the end of H concourse. Membership required for the first
(or a BC ticket) or a FC (or Exec Plat) ticket for the second.

This is correct as of 2003 - not sure if things have changed since,
though. Reader be aware.

Give them nicotine patches.

When I was a regular smoker, I used to always wear them when flying.
Sure beats the alternative.

Actually, I heard a rumor that Air France now offers nicotine patches to
passengers on non-smoking flights. Anyone know if that's true?

Maybe they could get a patch (or a case of patches)
