Default Air marshall slapped by woman on phone

read an item in news wire tonight about a woman on a flight from
Philadelphia to Miami... air craft was taxiing to runway
woman was asked to end her phone call and sit down...
she said no she would not hang up
when air marshall tried to get her to sit down, she slapped him....

she did not make it to Miami........

Is she related to your friend who was stopped for speeding while rushing
to the airport? I saw the article about the cell phone women in USA
Today online a couple of days ago. Too bad for the delayed passengers
that had to wait for the plane to go back to the terminal. I wonder if
she stopped for a drink on her way to the plane.

Is it the responsibility of the Air Marshall to take care of this? I would
have thought he would let the airline staff deal with it rather than blow
his cover.

Likely not, but how many times do people actually avoid complying with
the announcements to keep their seat backs reclined a little longer,
coach class passengers using 1st class bathrooms, etc.? I actually
don't blame the Marshall in stepping in if the lady wouldn't sit down
(the plane was taxiing!)...perhaps he suspected something was abnormal
and it was his responsibility to take action?

I wonder if the Air Marshal identified himself to her (showed
identification) before he put his hand on her shoulder? Her reported
attitude was not appropriate but perhaps his action wasn't either.

from what I have been able to read from the different news sites, this

local/state assault charges here

Default Air marshal slapped, woman on phone

did some searching this weekend looke like this incident may have happened about
a week ago the woman was taken off the aircraft prior to it departing. I don't
think she made it to Philadelphia yet... be interesting to see what happens at
the trial

I've been on aircraft seveal times when shouting or shoving matches have broken
out
Ofter one party is rude, or drunk/intoxicated....

looks like she'e being charged with "assault" and something else at a federal vs
state level. I'm not sure if she has been released... I think she still has a
free "hotel" someplace in Miami
