I've always wanted to vist Europe's longest pier. Looks like a great
place.
Would a three-day stay be sufficient to see all of it, to get to know the
local population and to see the cultural highlights of the pier? What
railway connection to the pier do you recommend? Do they have chips with
the steak? Are helmets mandatory?

Not true.

Southend (UK) has the world's longest pier. See
http://thelongestlistofthelongeststu...m/long126.html

Sopot (from memory) may be the world's longest "double-decker" pier.

Gerry

Besides, the one in Southend doesn't float.

and isn't a near anagram of toss pot

However, Southend-on-Sea Pier is an anagram of "Usenet soon paid her",
which has to be a good punchline to something.

A UK TV prog just a few evenings ago said that Southport, Lancs. was the
longest, beyond Southend. True? Must check.
