If Israel doesn't want a bunch of organized foreigners to come in and
wage a protest, it is Israel's right to bar them entry, just as it is
the right of any other nation, including "democratic" ones and
totalitarian ones to do the same.

Foreigners should always consider themselves a guest in the host's
country and should behave accordingly.

Well of course the body of the article makes it plain that this is a
false allegation. No airline will risk boarding passengers if the
destination country is certain to refuse entry. The airline would be
forced to fly them back again at the its' expense. Nothing at all to do
with Lufthansa making a decision based on politics.

False reasoning, if they paid a round trip fare
Lufthansa has no extra expense.

Other than the "fine" for importing someone who is refused entry.

(I've no idea whether Israel imposes such a fine on the carrier, but many
countries do)

In the final analysis it's the company that does the check-in that gets
to be made liable for any consequential costs if a passenger is refused
entry at destination. (I learnt this from personal experience, but the
story is too complicated and OT to explain here right now.)

All in all, the headline of the story is totally biased and has nothing
to do with Lufthansa. It's telling that website is some kind of
pro-Israeli outfit. It's kind of ironic that Israelis should castigate a
German airline for kowtowing to Israeli immigration rules, don't you
think? I'd better stop making any more comments at this point...

False reasoning. They have to fly them back on the same plane,
regardless, whether they have to bump another pax or put them in 1st
class is their problem.

Odd how if Israel does it it's a violation of international law and if
the US does it with their 'no fly list' nobody yells.
