I don't think so, it sounds more like Rush Limbaugh...

Why, Molvanīa, of course! Home of Europe's oldest nuclear reactor,

"We decided to make up a country so we wouldn't offend anybody".

A bit like writing a mock guide book about a fictional country and
then choose to name it Breat Gritain, not to offend anyone.

Heh... Except that Breat Gritain has a lot of catching up to do before
it reaches the level of Molvanīa

Aah. So not a fan of good food, a good climate, good wine, the right way to
live, lovely countryside and their Government being right about the Iraq
war, eh?

Too bad none of this applies to France. Well, I suppose French
countryside has a couple of nice spots here and there, but you are
surely joking about the rest.

It most certainly does apply to France. It is a beautiful country. I have driven
through quite a bit of the French country side was was very much impressed. We
had great food with only a few disappointing meals. The cheap wine was nothing
to write home about but we had some excellent wines too.

I'm sure Idaho has even more. But I wouldn't go there to eat.

It all depends on your reference point. Comparing with Molvania
or Canada or some such, yeah, I suppose in France one can find
edible food every now and then, a bit of landscape here and there,
and, provided one is willing to plunk down $100 or more, good wine.
But comparing with the U.S., Latin America, most of Asia, or, hell,
even Spain, France is not in the running on any of these counts.

For the past few years, I've been traveling to France on business 2-3
times per year, not counting an occasional vacation, and I am happy
to report that the food situation seems to be improving. I had most
excellent North African food in Marseille, and even started seeing
some halfway decent Asian eateries in Paris, but the provinces are
as dismal as ever - gloppy sauces on everything, overpriced plonk and
all the landscape variety of Central Russia.

I am not the fan of a country which has developed an arrogance which
believes that tourists are theirs to be fleeced and mistreated.

I am not the fan of a country which supports their dismal worker
productivity by sponsoring or encouraging strikes whenever workers decide
they need a break.

I am not the fan of a country which told the world they were taking the
moral high ground on the war against Iraq; but neglected to also state that
they had been sending illegal imports to Iraq throughout the UN sanction
period.

I am not the fan of a country which believe that their cultural superiority
entitles them to the efforts of armed forces of other nations whenever they
get into trouble.

I am not the fan of a country which lives by only two rules. One set for
themselves, and another for everyone else.

But, that's just me.

Yet you deign to find time in your jet-set schedule to fit in the
"occasional vacation." FAScinating.
