Butane Lighter and knife on plane?
I want to go traveling, the best thing would be one of those utilitiy knifes
like a swiss army knife, and a butane lighter. If I was a terrorist I'm sure they'd roll out the red carpet for me and let me on with a big knife, but unfortunately I'm not. So whats the rules for bringing this stuff on a plane? Can I do it? How long can the knife be? If I can't bring it onboard can I stick it in a small box and check it in luggage? Thanks. |

If flying to or inside USA, it's possible you might not be allowed to carry the pocketknife in your luggage. You must not pack flammables like lighters or matches into your luggage. You can never carry any form of knife on a commercial flight. So basically, you ought to be able to carry on the lighter, won't be able to carry on the knife, might be able to pack the knife into your luggage, and can't pack the lighter. -- Ken Tough |

Butane Lighter and knife on plane?
Yesterday, on AIR FRance from Argentina to France and on to England.
Extensive security checks - no knives or butane lighters allowed. Good. But...... the meal was served with METAL UTENSILS.... not so good - and can anyone in Air France explain that? (Please remove the ".net" in my address to reply. Thank you). |
