correct.

It is not the proper function of computers to decide for people
whether what they want to do is acceptable.

Surely it is, or maybe that's the software. But even on crappy PC's
it's difficutl to accidently format or erase your startup disc.
In some case's I cabn;t even find the files because they are invisibkle, in
others I
don;t have permission to overwrite them. In fact in lots of case I wouldn't
want
our students writing or reading from some areas of the disc, but then again
a human
decides on that in the first instance.
