Default Emerald Princess review

The Emerald is fantastic

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Just returned from our first Princess cruise. It was not our first cruise,
but was the first in the Mediterranean. I must admit that the ship is
magnificent, the crew was friendly and efficient and the food was
delightful. I'm not a maven on the subject, but I think they got most
everything right when they built this ship.

Just a few notes for those considering cruising on the Emerald.

1. There is only one plug in your room-so if you need to plug in a cell
phone, a computer, a curler and a toothbrush-you'd better bring a power
strip.

2. We were one of the lucky couples who got to attend the "Chef's Table
Special Dinner". I understand they will continue this program, but only once
per cruise-so put your reservation in as soon as you get on the ship. The
experience is to "die for". Princess has posted a blurb on their website
under "news" which explains the whole thing. It costs extra-but we thought
the value was well beyond the cost.

3. Don't miss the "cookies and milk" in the Atrium around 5PM while enjoying
the entertainment.

4. The coffee in the dining rooms was not as bad as we expected. As a matter
of fact, we didn't use up the coffee card we bought.

5. If your cruise stops in Santorini, make sure you ride a donkey to the
top-we laughed all the way up-it was a blast.

If anyone wants more details, I'd be glad to answer emails.

Royal, which I was on last week, is older but has a slew of plugs both
220 and 110 I have dual voltage stuff so things were great. Closets were
almost as small as the bathroom, impossibly small.

Got that on Royal as well though it was a "secret" up at the pool deck
while tea was being served below in the restaurant

You are probably one of the ones that pinned me to the wall as I was
walking up! LOL

Do they still have the cookies available at the International Cafe all
day long? I understand that the "cookies and milk" thing is now on all
Princess ships.

We sailed the Crown Princess last august and are now booked on the
Emerald Princess for 1/08 and I can't wait.

Thanks for the review.

What coffee card?
I thought coffee was free

Hi Everyone,

Standard drip coffee is complimentary and included in your cruise
fare. Specialty coffees are an extra charge. A coffee card is
available for purchase.

Best regards,

The coffee card is about $25, can be used most places on the ship and is
for specialty coffees. Regular cruise ship coffee is available as it is
on any other ship.

Thanks Sue. The last 6 Princess cruises we were on did not offer a "coffee
card".
Hey, no hard feelings. I was just feeling my oats yesterday. Cruisers are
good people and I figure you are also.
We are booked on the Emerald Princess for the 1/5/08 sailing. Hope to get
together and say hello.

The first I saw of the coffee cards was on the new Crown Princess.
