Default Voyage of the Seas (video)

I didn't recall hearing this news from 2005, when the VOTS got caught
in a storm with some of its controls knocked out...

For the faint of stomach, take your drammamine first...

Please. That is not Voyager of the Seas. Not even close.

Hi,

The reason you never heard about it is because it never happened. :+)
Your "ship" is not the Voyager of the Seas. This video is of a very
small ship, probably 1/7th the size of VOTS.

Best regards,
Ray

What ever she is, she is about 700-800 passengers from the life boat
configuration and has a yellow star on the stack.

My error on the name. It apparently the 'Grand Voyager', or just
'Voyager', as per the comments on the video page, and this Wiki News
article:

http://en.wikinews.org/wiki/
Passenger_ship_Voyager_radios_SOS_in_the_Mediterra nean

There also are statements to the effect that the ship was subsequently
renamed and repainted, so as to reduce the association with this
event.

Who's up to finishing the identification?

Default Can Ray identify this ship? (was: Voyage of the Seas (video)

My apologies; I did get the name of the ship wrong...it apparently was
Voyager or Grand Voyager...not sure, since it was reportedly renamed
and repainted after this little incident.

Since you're the RTC expert Ray, you could find & post who is running
this ship today, its current name, etc...if you wanted to. Please do
so.

This video is of a very small ship, probably 1/7th the size of VOTS.

Obviously wrong, since 1/7th of a 1020ft waterline is 150 feet.

Hi,

Charles and Joseph have already identified this ship for you and
explained the incident. Check out their postings from earlier this
morning. Grand Voyager is about 24,000 GRT and Voyager of the Seas is
137,000 GRT, hence my guess that the ship is about 1/7th the size.

Best regards,
Ray
