It takes how long? no idea. Do you realise that you pay for every incoming call whether you want the call or not Yep, I only switch it on to make the odd booking or phone home. -- Mike Reid Wasdale-Thames path-London-photos "http://www.fellwalk.co.uk" -- you can email us@ this site Eat-walk-Spain "http://www.fell-walker.co.uk" -- dontuse@ all, it's a spamtrap |

It takes how long? no idea. 15 seconds The physical change, what about all the other aggro? Do you realise that you pay for every incoming call whether you want the call or not Yep, I only switch it on to make the odd booking or phone home. Voice mail still piles up :-) I never get more than one or two calls a day by mobile, not an issue. -- Mike Reid Wasdale-Thames path-London-photos "http://www.fellwalk.co.uk" -- you can email us@ this site Eat-walk-Spain "http://www.fell-walker.co.uk" -- dontuse@ all, it's a spamtrap |

Yep, I only switch it on to make the odd booking or phone home. IMHO, that just defeats the purpose of having a mobile phone. I can always stop and use a pay phone to make calls. Different people have mobiles for different reasons. When travelling we prefer not to stop and mess about finding a pay phone and a pace to park and you cant be rung back on a pay phone. A mobile is so that other people can reach me if they need to. That's just what I try to avoid. For me once a day is enough generally , I don't feel the need to be contactable every minute of the day while on holiday. If its important a message will be left. In fact given I don't use the phone when driving because its dangerous and its off when at home or in restaurants etc, 90% of people probably have to leave a message. Stopping and listening to a message is much better than live, you can reply when it suits you, maybe not at all. I usually only answer it "live" on those occasions when i'm planning to rendezvous with someone or its kept on for a possible response, otherwise it becomes master not slave. -- Mike Reid Wasdale-Thames path-London-photos "http://www.fellwalk.co.uk" -- you can email us@ this site Eat-walk-Spain "http://www.fell-walker.co.uk" -- dontuse@ all, it's a spamtrap |

A friend of mine drove 50 miles to the start of a walk with the message it was cancelled on his switched off phone. -- Mike Reid Wasdale-Thames path-London-photos "http://www.fellwalk.co.uk" -- you can email us@ this site Eat-walk-Spain "http://www.fell-walker.co.uk" -- dontuse@ all, it's a spamtrap |

A mobile is so that other people can reach me if they need to. I generally declare myself unnecessary for the duration of holidays. Des |
