Default cruise out of Santiago Chile

It is a long flight from Michigan to Santiago, Chile.
Can anyone recommend a stopover along the route to break up the trip.
Catching the Golden Princess March 2007 cruising back to San Francisco.

Stop in Lima....take a couple of days and see Machu Picchu.
