Can't find cheap accomodations in Hong Kong
This link covers some more economical hotels/guesthouse in HK.
http://www.yp.com.hk/iypbusiness_e03...ple_classcompa ny.aspx Price range from US40 (it is hard to get anything cheaper than this) to US100. Most are in convenient locations and HK is safe for tourists. Dom is not common in HK, so you will get a single room. It is definitely be very small, but you hv all you need. HK is noisy, but I believe you can still sleep. Hotel is the single most expenditure traveling in HK. Transportation, food, entrance fee etc are all very easy from someone from Europe / US. November is peak season. Make your reservation ASAP. "Hallvard Tangeraas" ... June wrote: Try this link http://hk.hotel.com.hk/index_eng.php Let me know which price range you prefer and I can advise on location/ conveniences etc. June Hong Kong Thanks. I'll try the link. As cheap as possible! I can't say any exact sum of money, but I'm travelling to a lot of places around the world for a long time, so I want to save money on accomodation and instead have more money for seeing places etc. As long as the place is safe, reasonably clean and lets me sleep at night (i.e. not too noisy, even though I'll bring ear-plugs) I'm happy. I don't need a single room if I can save a lot on staying at a dorm. Hallvard |

I lived in HK about 20 years ago, so I'll get used to that again, but this time around I don't know anyone I can stay with unfortunately. The price you quite above is about what I've found as well, searching through the net, looking in guidebooks etc. A bit pricey in the long run! Hotel is the single most expenditure traveling in HK. Transportation, food, entrance fee etc are all very easy from someone from Europe / US. That's good to hear. even though I don't think HK is as cheap as it used to be. I was back 10 years ago, and prices had risen dramatically since I lived there. November is peak season. Make your reservation ASAP. Yikes!! Does this include cheapo places such as Chung King or Mirador mansions? As far as I know, none of those backpacker places have websites or email addresses. It's also a little hard to make reservations when I'm not sure how long I'll be staying. I plan to be in HK for a few days, go to Beijing, then back to HK before I move on to Thailand. Hallvard |
