From the Times UK: Happy, happy, happy office workers in Fwance? Just
dont make faux pas in Fwench office. "Want to work in France? Then you will need to mind your language and the way you look. Your hair, clothes and make-up must be immaculate, even after a long, hard day. Your self-control should be total and your conversation will avoid all subjects likely to rile colleagues, such as love, money and your personal problems.... .....You may have thought of the French as a nation dedicated to the good things in life. This applies to any self-respecting Englishwoman too. But French offices probably don't have a tea-lady with a trolley at 10.30am and 3pm, so we win. Owain |
